Ever notice how when there's more stuff to blog, there's less time to do it? We've been enjoying our spring. Our baby girl turned one! She's not walking yet, but is a really fast crawler and loves to cruise. She's got 4 teeth now, loves her some pears and bananas, and has the entire boy population in our home wrapped around her finger. She has developed this adorable habit of covering her eyes with her forearm, all dramatic and lady like, peeking from under it when she's not getting her way or being shy. She's still not much of a cuddler, but loves to be held. Nothing can be sweeter than when she is happy to see you, and nothing louder and more unhappy than when you have displeased baby girl. Daddy told us NO and she got to crying so hard she was sobbing and couldn't catch her breath. Heh, I think we're in trouble. She is curious, funny, sweet, a bit spoiled (like all babies should be), determined, and so much fun. It's been a year now and we all still love to get her dressed up and make her smile. I still can't believe she is mine, that she's here. I'm just so grateful it hurts some days. For her birthday, we had a combo party and dedication ceremony. Our very special friend Kevin Guess spoke wisdom from the Bible to us, charged us with raising her as God's child, and prayed over her and us. We had a room full to bursting with friends and family, almost all our favorite people (with a few notable exceptions, believe it or not we were short on Morris'). Baby Girl was a bit overwhelmed but grew into it. I think she's starting to believe she is the most important person in any room, hard to argue with though. It was awful fun to do a birthday cake with pink flowers and butterflies instead of frogs, bugs, vehicles, or dinos. I didn't do the whole cake, I got one from the bakery with the borders on it, but I did do the flowers, butterflies and writing. We had pink balloons, pink plates, pink table decorations, she's gonna hate pink. But until then I'm overdosing on it.
We'll get the cake pics up soon.
