Another busy week. I don't know about other families, but our family seems to get busier in the summer. We spend lots of time at the pool, we travel a little and I try to do fun things with the kids. I've been reading some blogs and getting fun ideas for inside activities. It's been around 100 degrees in the afternoons here, so I look around for some activities that will keep them busy and not connected to electricity or a screen. This week we made some sponge balls! We of course had a war with them. I did participate, the pics were taken by a dripping mommy.
We also got to visit with some friends who live outside town on a small ranch, just about 50 acres (hey, that is small for Texas). They are a truly lovely family with 8 children. The boys are all almost exactly my boys ages, so I hardly see my children when we are there. There were chickens and horses to look at, atvs to ride, a swimming pool, a really cool fort and good company. I really struggle with coveting while out there, but I am glad we are provided with friends who share with us.
We got to have our Granny come visit again. We hadn't been seeing her as regularly recently because of my family obligations in June. Chris' grandmother lives in town. She has Alzheimer's but that makes her a perfect fit for our kids as repetitive behaviors and conversation don't bother her at all *grin* . She will play ball with them for hours, sit and hold whoever wants to be held, and loves to laugh at them. She is in love with Princess Banana and PB rewards her with special smiles. I just love that my kids get this time with her and get to see and hear pieces of their family history. It's Cuddles and Zany's birthday this week. I can't believe they are 7!!!! They want to go see the movie Wall-e so we are gonna take a couple of friends to see it on Saturday. Then we are off to the Hill Country (central Tx for those not from around here) to visit my sister and other family. So next weeks update might be a little late, but it will be full of pics!!

Cuddles? How come I don't know this nickname for our boy?
Tracy! I just saw the sweet comment you left on my blog LAST MONTH@ Thank you for offering a memory box. I thought of you during that horrible time and of course was filled with hope for what would be. I prayed the Lord would bless my womb soon...who knew it would be this soon!!
This time everything feels so different. It feels normal!
